A modern day Bollywood retelling of the classic Arabian Nights tale of Aladdin and the magic lamp. The young Aladin (Riteish Deshmukh) is an idle boy whose mother despairs of him. When he discovers a magic lamp, he unleashes the power of a mischievous genie (Amitabh Bachchan), who grants him three wishes. His fortunes change and Aladin falls in love with the beautiful Princess Jasmine. Meanwhile, evil forces pursue him in a bid to seize his powers. A contemporary story set against a magical backdrop of fantasy, Aladin is Eros International's first foray into the realm of special effects films. Four years in the making, the film boasts high end visual effects produced by 250 visual effects artists. Packed with action, adventure, music and romance, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh and marks the debut of Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandes. The music has been scored by acclaimed composing duo Vishal-Shekhar.
